Hi! I'm Katherine. I initially decided to become a speech-language pathologist (SLP) after seeing how valuable and meaningful it is to help others with communication difficulties. I love this field, knowing that we can be the difference makers in our clients' and families' lives. I believe that no person is the same, and that each client deserves functional and individualistic approaches to best suit them and their needs.

I love being clinically challenged in ways that make me think outside of the box to best serve my clients. I enjoy getting to know all of the clients and families that I work with by fostering a mutually respectful and trustworthy relationship. I enjoy learning new therapy treatments and approaches through continuing education and collaboration.

I have worked in settings such as schools, private practice (outpatient), teletherapy, assisted living facilities (ALFs), and home health. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, strengths-based, sensory integrated, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

I am very please with how the eval was handled by Ms. Humenik. She took the time to understand [my daughter's] strengths and weaknesses and completed an eval that made sense to her needs right now. The outcome and plan of care is very accurate for my daughter. I have been in this journey for years now and is the first time an SLP’s achieved goals and a plan of care eval in a way that was accurate to help my daughter move forward and completely find her voice.
