About me
Hi! I'm Jessica, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP). Communication has always been important to me, and I have always enjoyed helping people. Therefore, when I learned about speech therapy, I knew right away it was something I needed to pursue. Throughout my schooling, clinical placements, and real-life experiences, I have continued to feel passionate about speech therapy and the positive impacts it has for children, adults, and families. I have worked in skilled nursing, acute care, and inpatient rehab. During my experience in the acute and inpatient rehab setting, I earned an ACE award for continuing education. I have also been trained in MBSS and FEES. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, and family-centric.

Both therapists I have been able to learn from have been so many wonderful things, it is hard to explain them all. I will start with kind, patient, generous, understanding, going above and beyond to help me learn, practice, and give me tools I need to apply what I'm learning. Also, they are genuine people that care about other people. In my opinion, that is one of the most important aspects of being a therapist that is helping people who are struggling and having a hard time. And these women nailed it! So grateful for expressable and these incredibly talented, knowledgeable, experienced and caring therapists!

Jessica had given me a doozy of a problem-solving activity in a recent, previous session. I was able to complete it, and she reviewed it during this session on July 17th. She was so encouraging!!! She reviewed my work, encouraged me on my use of Excel to complete it, and talked through the review aspects of it - how did I feel about the activity, what did I learn from doing the activity, what will I do differently next time, etc. I love that she encouraged me, talked with with me on the emotional regulation challenges of doing this activity, and then gave a gentle critique, which did not discourage me, but turned into discovering a new area of challenge I have that she will work with me on to restore. She is an incredibly talented therapist, and a truly kind, caring human being. So thankful I get to learn from Jessica! :)
