About me

Hello! I'm Jennifer. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2021. I transitioned to clinical practice in speech-language therapy after spending a few years abroad (learning how different languages work and teaching bilingual language development) and a few years in the research lab (analyzing what aspects of speech and language indicate significant delay or disorder). After those experiences, I wanted to pursue therapy to help people with significant communication needs on an individual level. Each and every client since I’ve joined clinical practice has reaffirmed my passion for therapy, adding tremendous depth to my understanding of the field – both personally and professionally. I continue to look forward to client growth and my own development each day that I provide services. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, individualized, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment by creating self-advocates.

Other interests

I recently have gotten into video games, especially the Zelda series. Off and on, I'm trying to learn how to crochet. Similarly, I've been taking self-based Python coding classes and I enjoy learning about techy tips and tricks for daily / professional life. I also really love going to indoor cycling classes, as well as taking my dog out to the lake with my husband.

We had a great experience with our speech therapist. She really helped my son who was struggling with vowels, sounds of some letters and his speech he was embarrassed by in School. However, with the assistance of his therapist we are happy to say, he is doing great! Also, he is reading and feeling so confident in his self. Just want to Thank her so much Jennifer!!!!

I love how Jessica wrote out (my son's) care plan, she let me answer the questions to the best of my ability, even though some questions are repeated sometimes, I love how each category matches (my son) and what he needs.

I absolutely love that every session is started with a familiar. Check in with our emotions, discussing our time in the last session. It’s helpful that [my child] is given choices, does she want to work on her R sound or her emotions? It’s absolutely so wonderful that Jennifer can pivot depending on [my child's] mood and attitude.

Teacher was very nice and friendly. First session for evaluation was kind of long!

Jennifer is so supportive and brilliant. She is invested in our son's progress, and we are so lucky to have her as our son's therapist. I like how she celebrates even the little wins with us, gives us valuable articles and charts, and helps guide us on the proper techniques for our situation.

My daughter loves playing the speech games. I absolutely love the amount of personal support and patience the speech therapist has when talking to my daughter.

Jennifer is so kind and patient with (my daughter). She also catches things that we wouldn’t have caught in her speech.

Jennifer is patient and so great with our son! She's flexible during the session yet structured so we do not stress when sessions do not go as planned.
