About me

Hi! I'm Catherine. I received my graduate degree in speech-language pathology in 2019 from Emerson College. I chose to become a speech-language pathologist to blend my love for problem-solving, creativity, language, and helping others. My sister saw a speech pathologist as a child, and I remember telling my mom, “I'm going to be a speech therapist when I grow up!" My interests led me down different paths until I worked under an SLP as a literacy instructor at a clinic for children with dyslexia. I knew I had found my career. There is really nothing more meaningful than supporting individuals to participate in their lives—whether through communication, cognition, or swallowing—in a way that is meaningful to them. I am a certified SPEAK OUT! & LOUD Crowd provider, a registered Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP) clinician, and am trained in the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing (LiPS) program. I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals with cognitive-communication impairments following acquired brain injuries, and have completed specialized training in this area. I have worked with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including pediatric and adult outpatient clinics, hospitals, teletherapy, and skilled nursing facilities. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, and rooted in client empowerment by creating self-advocates.

The therapist was fun and engaging.

My therapist was incredible. She was a good listener, and heard my concerns and took good notes. She gave me a short test, which was not as overwhelming as the longer ones I’ve taken, and based on my symptoms and performance, she said she adjusted my treatment plan And is looking forward to working with me in therapy via zoom every Monday afternoon, and I feel the same way.
