About me

Hi! I'm Cara. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 1993.I watched my brother struggle with severe dysfluency growing up. I saw the impact this had on his life and it left a lasting impression on me. I've always had a heart for people with special needs. I knew at a young age that I wanted to work with people who were affected by communication struggles in particular. I've taken the PLAY Project coursework, Cari Ebert's seminars on The Power of Play Based Learning, Autism Strategies: Neurodiversity Affirming Autism practices, and Apraxia for the Pediatric Clinician. I've had Trauma Smart Training and Diversity training. I am a life long learner committed to keeping my practice up to date and evidence based. I previously worked in the school setting. I would describe my clinical style as individualized/personalized and strengths-based.
