Hi, I’m Autumn! My journey into speech-language pathology began in high school while babysitting a little girl with Down syndrome. Watching her grow in confidence as she gained the ability to communicate her wants and needs showed me the life-changing impact of speech therapy, and I knew I wanted to make that same difference for others.
My clinical experience includes early intervention in-home services, work with adults with developmental disabilities in workshop and group home settings, and supporting children and adolescents with expressive/receptive language and articulation needs. I also have experience teaching phonics, confident speaking, and English language skills online. Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed helping clients build practical communication skills that increase confidence and independence in everyday life.
I have specialized training in the Sentence Writing Strategy, Paragraph Writing Strategy, TESOL, and accent modification. I especially enjoy working on articulation and love helping clients achieve clear /R/ sounds for the first time.
My therapy style is client-centered, functional, individualized, and family-focused. I value collaboration, meaningful goals, and empowering clients to become confident communicators and self-advocates.

Other interests
I love to be outside hiking and enjoying nature. I am also a sewist and enjoy working with our community theatres to costume plays and musicals. Most of all I love to play board games and travel with my husband and daughters. Our favorite games include Seven Dragons and Quarriors. Our favorite trip so far has been our family trip to Japan to visit my Japanese host family.

Autumn has been absolutely great. We suspect that our little guy has ADHD, and she's really patient with him, even when he gets distracted. It makes the world of difference to have a therapist who is calm even when he's being a bit chaotic.

I have shared this in a previous review, but I was initially very skeptical about how speech therapy you can happen over zoom but it ended up being the best thing for us considering I was pregnant and going to give birth a couple months after my son started speech therapy with expressable and we were able to maintain consistent therapy sessions solely because I could log him in on Zoom and he can do the session that way. Of course, there are some obstacles with it being over Zoom, but both therapists that we had were absolutely amazing in engaging my two year-old son and playing computer games, among other things to help jumpstart and develop his speech. We started therapy about 6-8 months ago and he was only saying a few words, but the therapist helped him build his vocabulary and give him confidence to say much more and now he is speaking sentences with us and is able to communicate well which was exactly our goal and we are so grateful for this opportunity with expressable, and his therapists Ashley and Autumn! I would highly highly recommend to any family that is looking for speech therapy for their children!

My son’s speech sessions have been greatly helpful in launching and developing his speech! Although I was skeptical about virtual speech therapy sessions, it has been incredible, especially as I was pregnant and once I had another baby because my son was able to continue his speech therapy from home and not have a lapse in therapy! It has been awesome. We worked with Ashley and Autumn and bother therapists have been phenomenal and my son always felt super comfortable with them!

Expressable is so easy and efficient! I love the connivence of scheduling and signing up online. They also text and email you which is much easier for me than calling. We enjoy our therapist so much!! It is so nice for kids because there are games involved with the speech therapy and kids don’t even realize they are doing “work”.
