About me

I live in Melbourne, FL, near the beach with my cat, Duncan. I became interested in SLP in college, when I shadowed a pediatric SLP in the NICU at the hospital and learned about the wide scope of practice. I have worked in many settings, including private schools, preschools, outpatient clinics, prescribed pediatric extended care facilities (PPECs.) I have special interest and continued education in the area of augmented and alternative communication (AAC). In 2020, I realized I enjoyed teletherapy because I was able to "see" the child in their natural environment and empower parents and caregivers to help their children reach their goals. I am inspired by Mary Poppins and truly believe that "In every job that must be done there is an element of fun."

Rachel has been so patient and kind with my son. She truly has an interest is helping him succeed and tries to choose activities that will interest him. I love that I can tell how much she cares.

Miss Rachel is extraordinary. Not only does she understand our daughter’s current speech better than any other speech therapist we have had/friend/non family member, she goes out of her way to have a special bond with our daughter.

Miss Rachel is upbeat, knowledgeable, and sooooo much fun. Our daughter is so excited for speech with Miss Rachel every week. She finds FUN ways to weave her specific short and long term goals for our daughter, such as through games, music, and dance. At first, I was skeptical about my 5 year old doing speech online. But (my daughter) has made 10x the progress with Miss Rachel on this platform than with any other therapist over the past 3.5 years. I am so grateful for Miss Rachel and cannot say enough wonderful things about her or the Expressable program!
