About me

Hello, I'm Mahra! I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2018. I chose to be an SLP because I believe that communication and connection with others is the basis of our human experience, and that feeding and swallowing skills are paramount to our well-being. I love that I can combine both of these interests and passions as an SLP! I have extensive experience with infant/pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders as well as a variety of pediatric speech and language disorders. I am an international board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) and a professor at The College of New Jersey, where I teach a variety of speech pathology and audiology courses to undergraduate students. I have also taught a diagnostic practicum to graduate students at Monmouth University. I have worked as an SLP in both the private practice and sensory gym settings. My favorite part of being a therapist is supporting and empowering caregivers, and my clinical style is holistic, client-centered, and personalized to the needs and interests of the client.

Mahra is incredible with my son. She is kind, patient, and creative in her work.

J.C./Apr 22, 2023

Mahra's ability to quickly assess opportunities and provide recommendations that help to quickly progress our goals for a very strong will student is indicative of her skills. She listens to the caregivers and the student instead of just providing theory and whst cookies cutter guidance. This is refreshing and appreciated.
