About me

Hello, I'm Jennifer! I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2019. My path toward a career in speech language pathology began when I was a teacher. It was an extremely rewarding career but I longed to work one-on-one with my students where we could develop a relationship and tailor instruction specifically to their individual needs. After meeting the school district's speech language pathologist and learning about what she did, I knew that was the career for me. I have focused many of my continuing education training on deepening my understanding of working with people who stutter. Highlights include Transcending Stuttering, an 8-week course on stuttering therapy; The Lidcombe Program; Palin Parent-Child Interaction Therapy; and the Stuttering Foundation Eastern Workshop. I was honored to present a continuing education course "Fluency and the Whole Child: A Framework for Treating School-Age Children who Stutter" to students and speech language pathologists at Jackson State University. I have worked in pediatric clinics and the school setting. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment by creating self-advocates.
