About me

Hi! I'm Brittany. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2014. I wanted to become an SLP after watching both of my grandfathers receive SLP services after they both had strokes. I've also always had an interest in volunteering with Special Olympics in high school and college, and I've always enjoyed classes about language, human development, and neuroscience. I never knew that such a field existed until I went to college, and I'm so incredibly fortunate to have found this field.I am taking courses right now to become GLP certified, and much of my training has been in AAC, the SCERTS model, and neurodiversity. I also have taught courses at the undergraduate and graduate level for two universities on Long Island. I worked in settings such as schools and higher education/clinical supervision. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, routines-based, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
